What Makes a Good Deputy Manager?
- Being able to support the Registered Manager and the rest of the staff team in promoting the wellbeing of the young people.
- Having good interpersonal skills so you can help the manager convey their vision for the home with the rest of the staff team.
- Acting in accordance with the homes policies and procedures at all times and having high standards of practice.
- Taking an interest in all aspects of a young person’s life and ensuring that the staff team is working in line with each child’s individualised care plan.
- Promoting key models from the homes SOP and potentially being the homes lead on them.
- Having the ability to establish good relationships with the young people and also be a presence within the home, so that you can de-escalate situations and help young people return to their baseline.
- Being able to lead and contribute to key discussions between staff, young people, relatives/parents, and outside professionals.

What Makes Me Eligible?

2 Years+ experience of being a Senior/Team Leader in a children’s home
#2
To have achieved a 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
#3
Ideally, having a full UK driving licence
#4
Having a specialism or passion that you can take the lead on
